YouTube has launched a suite of artificial intelligence tools designed to enhance Shorts production. The announcement came during the platform's Made on YouTube live event, highlighting a strategic push into AI-assisted content creation.

A customized iteration of Google's Veo 3 video generation model, dubbed Veo 3 Fast, will integrate directly with YouTube Shorts. This lightweight version produces 480p videos with reduced latency, enabling creators to generate clips from text prompts while incorporating audio elements for the first time.

The platform's partnership with DeepMind yields innovative features including image animation through motion extraction from reference videos. Creators can inject objects like characters or props using simple text commands - "add a rubber ducky to your morning coffee" exemplifies the tool's creative potential.
